Excellent! So you made the decision to get your bathroom renovated, but now what? You’ve done some research, hopefully got some recommendations from family and friends and done the due diligence to ensure you are approaching the companies who can deliver what you want. But what do you want? This is the key question we ask when quoting and many clients simply don’t know.
Before you get to the stage of organising quote appointments, sit down with a coffee (or a wine) a pen and paper and start with a few dot points of your desirables, your vision, what’s to be removed or relocated etc. The point is not to try and get too overwhelmed (or side tracked with Pintrest or Instagram – we all know it happens). Once you have a basic idea of what your renovation is to achieve then your quote appointments will run much more smoothly, saving you a lot of time in the long run. If you have the budget to do so then it’s sometimes worth getting a designer in to flesh out your dream bathroom, that way your plans can be used for each company to work from for the quote.
To ensure that you get three quotes which are each pricing for the same scope of works, it’s important they all have the same information. So send them the designers plans or email them your list of requirements to be sure you get easily comparable quotes – apples for apples and all that!
